Camping Structures
Piloting carbon smart materials and systems.
EXPERIMENTAL STRUCTURES
SHELTER + WATER + FIRE
Located near the Cloverdale Ranch open space trail system, Red Dot Ranch is a coastal field station for overnight stays demonstrating how working lands can simultaneously support food production, habitat restoration, and regenerative building materials grown from the land. Building upon a successful HipCampsite we are in the planning stages with partners to design and build a series of carbon smart low impact camping structures testing and proving regenerative building techniques and designing with nature. Our goal is to have a series of small teaching and overnight accommodation structures, some permanent and some rotating showcasing novel architecture and building techniques that save water and are resilient in fire prone landscapes.
